Bamboo Privacy Policy

1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Stay Gold Technologies ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Bamboo mobile application ("Bamboo" or "the App"). Bamboo is available on the Apple App Store, and this policy applies to all versions of the app.

By using Bamboo, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have questions, contact us at support@staygoldtechnologies.com.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

Bamboo stores all of your fitness data locally on your device using an embedded database. This data includes:

Workout sessions: name, date, start and completion times
Exercises: name, type (reps, distance, or duration), and notes
Sets and efforts: weight, reps, distance, duration, and completion state
Distance workouts: your route (GPS coordinates), lap splits, pace, and total distance
Heart rate and active calories for a workout, when measured by a connected Apple Watch
Workout templates you have created
Your exercise catalog: exercise definitions and usage history
App preferences: weight unit, distance unit, rest timer duration, appearance mode, and haptics setting

None of this data is transmitted to Stay Gold Technologies or any third party. It exists solely on your device and is under your control at all times.

3. Location Data

Bamboo requests access to your device's location only when you begin a distance-tracking exercise. This permission is used to measure your distance, pace, and route during that session.

Location is processed in real time to calculate distance and pace
Your route (a series of GPS coordinates), lap splits, and total distance are saved as part of that workout so you can review them later. To limit storage, long routes are simplified to a reduced set of points
This route data is stored only on your device, alongside the rest of your workout history
Location access is requested only when a distance-tracking session is active, including in the background while that session continues
You may deny location permission; distance tracking will be unavailable but all other app features remain fully functional

Your location and route data are never transmitted off your device by Stay Gold Technologies and are never shared with any third party.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

Bamboo can connect to Apple Health to keep your training in one place. This integration is off by default and is enabled only if you turn on "Sync with Apple Health" in the app's Settings and grant permission in the iOS Health sheet. You choose exactly which categories to allow, and you can change or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Bamboo.

When enabled, Bamboo may:

Read your step count, body weight, recent workouts, and date of birth (date of birth is used only on your device to estimate heart-rate zones)
Write your completed workouts (activity type, duration, and distance) so they count toward your activity rings and appear in the Health and Fitness apps
With a connected Apple Watch, record heart rate and active calories for the workout

This information is exchanged directly between Bamboo and Apple Health on your device. It is not sent to Stay Gold Technologies' servers and is not shared with any third party. We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it. Apple Health data may sync across your own Apple devices through iCloud according to your device settings; that syncing is performed by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Local Notifications

Bamboo may send local notifications to your device, for example to alert you when a rest timer has ended. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification content is transmitted to or processed by any server.

You can disable notifications for Bamboo at any time in your device's Settings app.

6. Data Export

Bamboo includes a built-in export feature that lets you save your workout data as a JSON file. You control where that file goes: to Files, iCloud Drive, email, or any other destination you choose. Stay Gold Technologies does not receive a copy of any exported data.

7. No Accounts or Personal Information

Bamboo does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information as part of normal app use.

If you contact us for support, we will only use your contact information to respond to your inquiry.

8. Analytics and Diagnostics

Bamboo does not currently include third-party analytics software or crash reporting. We do not collect usage data, session metrics, or diagnostic information.

Note on future updates: We may add opt-in crash reporting in a future version to help us identify and fix app stability issues. If we do, it will be clearly disclosed in an updated version of this policy, and any diagnostic data collected will not include your workout content or personal information.

9. Cloud Storage

All data in the current version of Bamboo is stored locally on your device only.

Note on future updates: We intend to introduce optional cloud sync or backup in a future version of the app. When that feature is released, this policy will be updated to fully describe what data is stored, where it is stored, how it is protected, and how you can delete it. Cloud storage will be opt-in, and local-only use will remain available.

10. Children's Privacy

Bamboo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

11. Deleting Your Data

Because all data is stored on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

Use the Reset all data option in Bamboo's Settings to permanently erase all workout history, templates, exercise definitions, and preferences
Uninstalling Bamboo from your device will remove all locally stored app data

Stay Gold Technologies does not hold a copy of your data and therefore cannot retrieve or delete it on your behalf in the current version of the app.

12. Third-Party Services

Bamboo does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, which is subject to Apple's own privacy practices and terms.

If you purchase a Bamboo subscription or one-time upgrade, payment and purchase data is processed by Apple (via the App Store) and RevenueCat, our in-app purchase management provider. Neither Stay Gold Technologies nor RevenueCat receives your full payment card details. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase events and subscription status to help us manage entitlements. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice through the App or the App Store listing.

Continued use of Bamboo after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
